Telenor Myanmar Company Ltd (Telenor) has entered into an agreement with Marie Stopes International Myanmar (MSIM) in relation to the provision of healthcare services in Myanmar. The companies aim to provide affordable family healthcare in under-served communities in Myanmar. Medical advice will be available via text and voice activated SMS, interactive voice responses, and call centres. Telenor and MSIM plan to expand the programme to offer 3G enabled mobile ‘telemedicine services’ whereby patients living in rural areas will be able to consult with doctors via Telenor’s mobile network.
